HIGHLIGHTED WORK
CULTIVATING CULTURE AT DEVEX
Highlighted Work from a Remote Media Platform
As an online media platform, we are a hybrid-remote company. We have offices in DC, Barcelona, Manila, and 20% of our team is 100% remote (though we're fully remote right now due to COVID). Our teams consist of News, Creative, Analytics, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, and more.
As the People Team Lead, I lead a small team and am responsible for the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from the team roadmap to daily operations. It includes attraction, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I), and offboarding. I collaborate with all teams, from recruiting a fantastic new Devexer to coaching and equipping all teams with the skills and tools to do their best work and achieve big goals (and love doing it!). #WeWorkTogether #WeEmbrace Transformation
I've also helped educate the global development community about remote work, leading How to Empower and Communicate on a Remote Team and How to Manage Remote Teams webinars.

ENGLISH COMMUNICATIONS COACH
Highlighted work from Communications Coach turned Organizational & Leadership Coach
I founded Breathe Easy English (BEE) toĀ help global professionals make their voice heard, so they couldĀ speak confidentĀ English at work. Boldly lead a meeting. Awe theirĀ audience during a presentation. Lead their team with emotional intelligence. Connect with coworkers in daily conversation. Or land their dream job. Quickly, it turned in to career, leadership, and team coaching. Today, BEE has become part of Rachel Korb Coaching. IĀ workĀ with clients from around the globe, from tech startups to multinational companies, and universities.
SCALING SPRINGBOARD
Highlighted Work from a global EdTech Startup in San Francisco
As the 3rd Sprinboarder to join Springboard in San Franciso (and 8th globally), I led and scaled the global Student Operations from 80 to 1000 active students, managing a small team. I worked closely with marketing, mentor operations, product, engineering, and curriculum dev. I also cultivated and nurtured Springboard's culture as the unofficial People Ops person through leading retreats, facilitating team building and upskilling activities, and designing hiring and onboarding, so that as a team, we could help professionals excel in their careers through accessible, online mentor-led boot camps in UX, Analytics, and Data Science. #AlwaysBeLearning

DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Highlighted Work from San Francisco State University
I created and managed a pilot international summer program at SFSU. I oversaw marketing, admissions, program design, course offerings, professional development workshops, and cultural activities. I traveled globally for recruitment and to speak at conferences and study abroad fairs. During the summer season, I advised students, facilitated professional development workshops, company visits, and cultural activities. The video below sums up what it was like, and reminds me how much I miss those awe-inpiring students!
